In 2023, we have had the incredible opportunity to bring our clowning work internationally! We have been working hard to support the comedy-clown show, ‘Mail Ordered’ in Canada. This touring show which has premiered in Calgary and Vancouver in 2022 has been an important project for us to support with a team of both Singaporean and Canadian creatives.

The show “Mail Ordered” is an interactive comedy performance about the life of a charming young girl, Lila seeking that promise for a better life with the help of her new Canadian friends. The performance promises the audience a rollercoaster ride littered with touches of parody, Asian melodrama tropes and dance numbers set to a fusion of Asian and Western inspired music and sounds.

In line with our vision to use mediums of theatre and clowning to help underserved voices in the community share their stories, ‘Mail Ordered’ was created to shed light on the realities of human trafficking through the mail order bride business. This is a delicate topic as it deals with realities of the sale of women and children from Asia to North America, Lila’s story being one of them.

We are thrilled to share that our production has received widespread acclaim, with sold-out runs and the honour of receiving three prestigious awards: the Patron’s Pick Award in Toronto, the Pick of the Fringe Award in Vancouver, and the Jester’s Cap Emerging Artist Award in Calgary.
